Own operations

For its own operations, the company has set a reduction target for annual group-wide Scope 1 and 2 emissions, which are to be reduced by 25 percent by 2030 compared to the base year of 2024.

Key measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions include the use of electricity from renewable sources and the conversion of the Group’s vehicle fleet to drives or fuels with lower emission intensity. This is complemented by the optimisation of office space utilisation at German locations.

As an insurance company, the impacts from its own operations are limited, as more than 99% of total emissions are attributable to the value chain.

Since 2019, the Talanx Group’s primary insurance has been offsetting the GHG emissions reported for its own operations in Germany through the use of GHG certificates certified according to international standards.
