Dr Edgar Puls

Member of the Board of Management of Talanx AG and HDI V.a.G.

Dr Edgar Puls, born in 1973, has been CEO of HDI Global SE and as such member of the Talanx AG Board of Management with responsibility for the Corporate & Specialty Division since 2019.

After graduating with a degree in engineering, he completed a doctorate at the Institute for Risk and Consequence Analysis at the University of Wuppertal. After holding various positions at HDI in Germany, he was appointed CEO of HDI-Gerling Verzekeringen NV in Rotterdam in 2013. In the following year, Puls was appointed to the Executive Board of HDI Global SE, with responsibility for Motor and Region Europe, and from 2018 for Fire, Marine and Engineering.

During Edgar Puls's time as CEO of HDI Global SE, the ‘HDI Global 4.0’ strategy programme, with which he has led the global Corporate & Specialty insurer to sustainable profitability, and the continued internationalisation of the business, are among the achievements.
