ECB meeting in March– Commentary by Dr Jan Wicke

The ECB left interest rates unchanged at the ECB meeting in March. Dr Jan Wicke, CFO Talanx AG, comments on the interest rate decision.

It is right that the ECB has decided against lowering interest rates today. Inflation expectations have recently risen slightly, mainly due to the uncertain development of wages, and the economic data do not yet put any concrete pressure on the ECB to cut interest rates.
