Group news
15 May 2026
The Talanx Group has started 2026 with a record result of €774 million, clearly exceeding market expectations. Compared with the previous year, Group net income increased by 28%, confirming the strong growth trend. This performance was driven by a robust operating business, growth across all segments, and a significantly more favourable claims development. At the same time, financial strength was further reinforced: resilience in loss reserves increased to €5.9 billion. This puts the Group in a strong position to achieve its full-year target of approximately €2.7 billion.
In this episode, Bernd and Bas talk about the figures for the financial year 2025 and also discuss the individual segment results. And would you like to know why losses can also have a positive side? Bernd and Bas explain the positive impact the conscious realization of losses when selling bonds ahead of maturity can have. The strong dividend increase will also be a topic of discussion. At the end, Bas has a tricky decision to make.
