Frameworks & initiatives

We have set ourselves ambitious goals in line with our sustainability strategy, which we are continuously implementing through concrete measures. As an internationally operating insurer and investor, we are aware of our importance in the financial markets. For this reason, we actively support a number of important sustainability initiatives. We are a member of the UN-based Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI), Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the UN Global Compact. In addition, we are working to implement the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Disclosure (TCFD) and are an active supporter.

Talanx signs up to PRI

Talanx joined the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) initiative, which aims to promote sustainable investment practice. By doing so, the Company has committed itself to expanding its sustainable investments and to the six Principles for Responsible Investment

Talanx supports the TCFD recommendations

The TCFD recommendations offer a framework for future financial reporting with an additional focus on changes and risks due to climate change.

Talanx is a member of UNEP FI

The United Nations Environment Programme Financial Initiative is a global partnership between UNEP and the private financial sector. The goal is to integrate environmental aspects with financial market practice.

Talanx signs UN Global Compact

As a United Nations initiative, the UN Global Compact offers a unique forum for cross-sector and cross-border discussions of how to ensure equitable globalisation, and to put this vision into practice using suitable strategies and activities.

Above and beyond these commitments, the Talanx Group a member of a large number of regional, national and global associations, interest groups and organisations. In addition, our staff are members of working groups that focus on a variety of topics and contribute their expertise to relevant discussions, including on sustainability topics.

We are using our participation in local initiatives such as “Hannover ohne Plastik” (HOP) specifically for regional networking on sustainability issues and to develop measures to improve our internal environmental management. In Germany we support the following groups, for example:

Devolpment and Climat Alliance

This voluntary social alliance promotes implementation of the Agenda 2030 and the Paris Climate Agreement through international carbon offsetting in developing countries and emerging nations.

Hannover ohne Plastik

“Hannover Without Plastic” – coordinates activities to banish the use of plastic. Representatives of companies, educational establishments and other organisations had the idea of starting an initiative in Hannover to avoid plastic (waste).

Klima-Allianz Hannover 2030

Talanx is a member of the Klima-Allianz Hannover 2030 (Hannover Climate Alliance 2030), whose partners have agreed ambitious climate protection goals for 2030.
