Frameworks & initiatives

The Talanx Group’s sustainability reporting is based on a number of different national and international standards and guidelines. The Talanx Group also takes other guidelines above and beyond the mandatory standards and principles into account, firstly so as to have a binding framework for the sustainability goals it has set itself and secondly so as to ensure transparent, comparable reporting. The most important of these are described below.

We have set ourselves ambitious goals in line with our sustainability strategy, which we are continuously implementing through concrete measures. As an internationally operating insurer and investor, we are aware of our importance in the financial markets. For this reason, we actively support a number of important sustainability initiatives. We are a member of the UN-based Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI), Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the UN Global Compact. In addition, we are working to implement the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Disclosure (TCFD) and are an active supporter.

Talanx signs up to PRI

Talanx joined the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) initiative, which aims to promote sustainable investment practice. By doing so, the Company has committed itself to expanding its sustainable investments and to the six Principles for Responsible Investment.

Talanx supports the TCFD recommendations

The TCFD recommendations offer a framework for future financial reporting with an additional focus on changes and risks due to climate change.

Talanx is a member of UNEP FI

The United Nations Environment Programme Financial Initiative is a global partnership between UNEP and the private financial sector. The goal is to integrate environmental aspects with financial market practice.

Talanx signs UN Global Compact

As a United Nations initiative, the UN Global Compact offers a unique forum for cross-sector and cross-border discussions of how to ensure equitable globalisation, and to put this vision into practice using suitable strategies and activities.

Talanx reports according to GRI standard

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which provides guidance for preparing sustainability reports, has published internationally established, comprehensive sustainability reporting standards. The Talanx Group bases its annual sustainably report on these updated standards.

Talanx supports sustainable development in accordance with the SDGs

In 2015, the UN published 17 global goals for sustainable development aimed at governments, civil society and the private sector. The Talanx Group supports all 17 goals.

Above and beyond these commitments, the Talanx Group a member of a large number of regional, national and global associations, interest groups and organisations. In addition, our staff are members of working groups that focus on a variety of topics and contribute their expertise to relevant discussions, including on sustainability topics.
