The Talanx Group takes over the Chilean insurance group Inversiones Magallanes. This takeover will help Talanx to continue enhancing its presence in the strategic target region of Latin America. The Group is already represented in Chilean retail business with the HDI brand. This acquisition will also make Talanx one of the leading insurers in Chile.
The Talanx Group has published a Sustainability Report for the first time. The report documents the increasingly sustainable alignment of the insurance group. “The Board of Management adopts an integrated, sustainable approach to corporate management,” commented Herbert K Haas, Chairman of the Board of Management of Talanx AG.
The industrial lines insurer within the Talanx Group is operating under the name HDI Global SE with immediate effect. With the entry in the Commercial Register the announced renaming of HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG and the conversion to an SE (Societas Europaea = European joint-stock company) were successfully completed on 8 January 2016. The Talanx industrial lines insurer now trading as HDI Global SE has increasingly evolved in recent years into a global provider of industrial insurance solutions. HDI Global SE handles more than three thousand international insurance programmes worldwide.
Talanx is strengthening its Latin American business by acquiring Generali Colombia Seguros Generales S.A. and its subsidiary Generali Colombia Vida Compañia de Seguros S.A. The Group is thus entering the Colombian insurance market and expanding its successful and focused presence in the strategic target region of Latin America.
