Dr Wilm Langenbach

Member of the Management Board of Talanx AG and Chairman of the Management Board of HDI International AG

Dr Wilm Langenbach has been a member of the Board of Management of Talanx AG and Chairman of the Board of Management of HDI International AG since 1 December 2020. Since then, he has made a significant contribution to the further internationalisation of the Group.

In the core markets of Europe and Latin America, he has successfully driven the organic and inorganic growth of the global retail business. With a number of new partnerships and acquisitions in Chile, Brazil, Türkiye and Poland he has strengthened our Top 5 position in our core P&C markets. In 2023, Talanx also became the second-largest insurer in the property-casualty business in Latin America by acquiring the business with retail customers and small to mid-sized enterprises from Liberty Seguros in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador.

For Wilm Langenbach, the decentralised, entrepreneurial culture of Talanx is an important key to success. His motivation is to support the local management teams in their entrepreneurial spirit and to ensure that all HDI International employees feel empowered to make their contribution to the company's success.

There has always been an international dimension to Wilm Langenbach’s entire career, more than 25 years of which have been spent in the insurance industry: the business administration graduate and trained banker speaks English, French and Spanish in addition to his native language German. Before joining Talanx Group, he was responsible for the development of growth markets at AXA Group, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, initially as COO, later as CEO and then also as CFO. Prior to this, he was a senior partner for the German and European insurance sector at McKinsey & Company, Inc.
