CFO Dr. Jan Wicke on 2022 FY results: Be there for our clients when the unexpected happens

With its annual result, Talanx achieved a double record: premium income rose by 17.4 percent to EUR 53.4 billion and the Group net income increased by 15.9 percent to EUR 1,172 million. At the same time, with EUR 2.18 billion, major loss claims also reached a peak. As Talanx, we are feeling the effects of climate change: Total large losses from natural disasters were EUR 1.5 billion in financial year 2022. The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine is also reflected in our results. We have reserved EUR 367 million in this context.
