A.M. Best upgrades Talanx

Rating agency A.M. Best has raised the Issuer Credit Rating of Talanx AG to “a-” with stable outlook from “bbb+” with positive outlook on May 16, 2014. At the same time, the debt ratings for bonds issued by Talanx Finanz S. A. were increased from “bbb” to “bbb+”. The Financial Strength Rating of “A” with stable outlook has been confirmed for the rated Talanx primary insurance companies.

The positive rating decision is primarily based on the profitability of the Talanx Group. A.M. Best also acknowledges the successful stock market debut of Talanx AG, which the agency perceives as having increased the financial flexibility of the Group. The new rating also bears testimony to the success of Talanx in integrating the companies WARTA and TU Europa in Poland which were taken over in 2012.
