Fabian von Löbbecke becomes new Chief Executive Officer of HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement AG
Hannover, 30 August 2011
Fabian von Löbbecke (38) has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement AG with effect from 1 October 2011. Mr. von Löbbecke succeeds Michael Ehlers (60), a member of the Management Board of HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement AG, who is leaving the company by mutual agreement on the most amicable terms.
"We would like to thank Michael Ehlers for his many years of successful work as a member of the Management Board of HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement AG", Gerhard Frieg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement AG, stated.
A graduate in mathematics, Mr. von Löbbecke joins HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement AG from Generali Pensor Pensionsfonds AG. As a member of the latter's Management Board, he was responsible for the areas of Sales and Operations and played a crucial part in the company's success. Single premiums in an amount of EUR 500 million were acquired under his sales responsibility. From 2009 onwards Mr. von Löbbecke additionally served as a member of the Management Board of Volksfürsorge Pensionskasse AG. It was also with Volksfürsorge that Mr. von Löbbecke began his professional career: having served as an assistant to the member of the Management Board responsible for Finance and Life Products, he went on – as a department manager – to make an outstanding contribution to development activities in support of sales.
"With the appointment of Fabian von Löbbecke we are delighted to have attracted a proven expert in the field of pensions management and occupational retirement provision", Gerhard Frieg commented. "We are confident that Mr. von Löbbecke will not only build on the outstanding work performed by Michael Ehlers, but will also use his strength in the sales sector to further expand the market position of HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement AG."
