Harry Ploemacher focuses on AmpegaGerling
Hanover, 21 December 2007
A significantly increased investment volume at AmpegaGerling and the enhanced challenges of asset management are the reasons why Harry Ploemacher will be focusing exclusively on his operating functions from 1 January 2008. He will therefore be leaving the Board of Managment of Talanx AG on 31 December 2007. Ploemacher continues as Chairman of the Executive Management of AmpegaGerling Asset Management GmbH and Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of Ampega Gerling Investment GmbH and AmpegaGerling Immobilien Management GmbH.
During the merger of the Ampega and Gerling asset and property management companies, Ploemacher played a leading role in the integration of the former Gerling companies across the Group. He was able to carry out this function more effectively as a Member of the Group Board of Management. Now that the merger has been successfully completed, Ploemacher will be devoting all his efforts to expanding the operating business.
Talanx AG is looking forward to ongoing and long-term cooperation with Harry Ploemacher as CEO of the AmpegaGerling companies. Their strategic direction will continue unchanged. The three companies manage assets for the Talanx Group and for third-party customers in retail and institutional business.
Dr. Immo Querner, CFO of Talanx and also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AmpegaGerling Asset Management GmbH, takes responsibility for the Financial Services division, which also includes the Group’s reinsurance broker Protection Re, on the Board of Managment of Talanx AG with effect from 1 January 2008.
