Divisions

The companies of the Talanx Group operate in different fields of activity in primary and reinsurance. The various business sectors are united strategically by focusing on those areas that offer particularly promising opportunities going forward.

As is evident from the Group structure, the fields of activity are comprised of five divisions according to customer groups. The brands of the Talanx Group include HDI, providing insurance products for retail customers, HDI-Gerling, delivering solutions to industrial clients, Hannover Re, one of the world's leading reinsurers, TARGO Versicherungen, PB, neue leben and the financial services provider AmpegaGerling.

The Retail Germany division concentrates the activities of companies serving retail and commercial customers in the areas of P&C insurance, life insurance and bancassurance in Germany. The divisional company bears the name Talanx Deutschland AG.

The division offers German retail and commercial customers insurance protection that fits their needs. The range of products extends from property/casualty covers through all lines of retirement provision to complete solutions for small and mid-sized enterprises as well as freelance professionals. In this context, all sales channels are at its disposal – not only its own tied agents' organisation but also sales through independent intermediaries and multiple agents, direct sales and cooperative ventures with bancassurance partners.

The functional organisation ensures clear responsibilities and puts in place the platform for operations across the previous boundaries between the property/casualty and life lines of insurance. This perspective spanning the various lines of business is a vital prerequisite for improving processes and services to the benefit of our customers.

The new division of Retail International concentrates the activities of companies serving retail and commercial customers in the areas of P&C insurance, life insurance and bancassurance in foreign markets and is present in 15 countries with a clientele of more than 8 million. The division is led by Talanx International AG.

This division offers comprehensive tailored insurance protection for retail and commercial customers abroad. The product range encompasses inter alia offerings for motor insurance, property/casualty insurance, marine and fire insurance as well as for life insurance. In this context, the seasoned and competent management team combined with the strong underwriting expertise of the local staff forms the backbone of the Talanx International group.

By drawing on local industry-specific know-how and thanks to its presence through an extended sales network, the Retail International division is able to identify the specific needs of our customers abroad and offer them specially tailored solutions.
