To align the organisation better to clients' needs and enhance the value of the Group in the long term, a radical restructuring scheme was launched in 2009. Since 2011, the Group has been operating in the four divisions Retail Germany, Retail International, Industrial Insurance and Reinsurance.
Talanx International AG is represented in Brazil, Chile and Mexico, and in five other Latin American countries. Talanx's strategy in new markets is to purchase well-established companies and to profitably expand them under local management.
Meiji Yasuda Life and Talanx conclude a long-term strategic cooperation agreement. The primary aim of this strategic cooperation is to jointly take advantage of business opportunities in the more and more globalized insurance markets to promote the future growth of both companies.
With the acquisition of two large Polish insurers – TU Europa and TUiR Warta S.A. – on a joint basis with its Japanese partner Meiji Yasuda, Talanx has moved up to second place among insurance groups operating in Poland according to statistics published by the Polish financial regulator for 2010. Warta ranks among the leading companies in Polish industrial lines with some 1.5 million clients. By acquiring TU Europa, a strong player in the bancassurance sector, Talanx and Meiji Yasuda are embarking jointly with the Polish Getin Holding Group on a long-term strategic bancassurance cooperation in Poland. The acquisitions in Poland successfully reinforce the Group's strategy geared towards significantly boosting its international business.
